Nov. 9, 2009 - PRLog -- GN Netcom, a world leader in innovative headset solutions, announces that Jabra STONE, its new uniquely-shaped and stylishly-engineered wireless headset, will be available from November 16, 2009 at Epicentre and Challenger retail stores throughout Singapore for SGD198.

Amazingly small and lightweight at 7g and featuring a behind-the-ear wearing style, the Jabra STONE is a remarkable melding of art, fashion and technology. Designed in Copenhagen, Denmark by the Jabra design team, Jabra STONE is distinctive for its smooth and completely new look – one defined by discreet, natural lines, an advanced minimalist style synonymous with Scandinavian design, and a contemporary emphasis on both ergonomics and function.

”Jabra STONE is a major breakthrough in design and engineering. A new intelligent, proprietary Jabra-engineered technology inside the headset means that for the first time, an on-face boom-arm extending from the ear is eliminated without any compromise in audio quality,” said Leon Li, managing director, Mobile division, Asia Pacific, GN Netcom. ”In fact, a lot of technology has been ingeniously miniaturised and creatively packed into this headset so that it fits the slim curves and contour of the human ear.”

With Noise Blackout™ Extreme technology, dual microphones are placed strategically within the headset to reduce ambient noises, such as traffic and wind, and to deliver a clear natural-sounding voice. Featuring an invisible touch-controlled pad, users simply touch the smooth surface with their finger to answer or end a call and for volume control. Using Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR & eSCO, Jabra STONE can pair with two Bluetooth devices at any one time. In addition, Jabra STONE features A2DP support, offering users enhanced music listening experience.

Adding to Jabra STONE’s unique style and form factor is its portable charger. Providing a further 6 hours of talk time to the headset’s 2 hours, the small round charging case complements the curves and rounded edges of the headset, unifying shapes and lines into a simple elegant stone. Sporting dimensions of H 58 x W 51 x D 25 mm, the highly tactile Jabra STONE fits neatly into the palm of any hand.

”Jabra design heritage aside, the innovative concept for Jabra STONE was developed based also on feedback from our consumer research,” commented Leon Li. ”Headsets are becoming more than just a practical means to increase our ability to multi-task, to raise efficiency and productivity levels, or as a hands-free driving solution. With mobile phones set to play increasingly larger roles in the way modern individuals expect to enjoy their brands of music and media, users can continue to look forward to greater enhancements in the features and dynamic styles of Jabra headsets.”

Distributed in Singapore by Setelco Communications (Tel: 6285 8733), Jabra STONE will be available at all Epicentre stores and Challenger stores from November 16. Jabra STONE makes its world debut on November 8 in the United States where it will be available exclusively at all AT&T retail stores.
