Nov. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- FREMONT, CALIF.—American Portwell Technology, Inc., (http://www.portwell.com) a wholly owned subsidiary of Portwell, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the embedded computing market and an Associate member of the Intel® Embedded Alliance, announces PEM-E200VLA, a new ETX module offered with longevity support. Using the latest 45nm Intel Atom™ processor N270 and the Mobile Intel 945GSE Express chipset, Portwell’s new PEM-E200VLA ETX module offers high performance computing power, delivered in a compact platform measuring just 114mm x 95mm (4.49" x 3.74").

Based on the new Intel solution for embedded, the PEM-E200VLA is specifically designed to support the dual VGA display interface for various multimedia devices with low power consumption. With a maximum power consumption of around 12W specified as standard, the new PEM-E200VLA is expected to appeal to manufacturers of applications that require fanless operation. Where heat dissipation is an issue, a thermal cooling interface has been defined to help transfer any heat generated to a cooling solution.

PEM-E200VLA also provides extensive connectivity through industry standard interfaces, including: one SO-DIMM slot to support SDRAM up to 2GB; two SATA; four USB 2.0; one Fast Ethernet; two VGA (2nd VGA interface supported if TV-out function is not needed); 18-bit LVDS; HDA (High Definition Audio); I²C Bus; LPC (Low Pin Count) Bus, and the PEM-C200 microATX form factor based development kit carrier board.

Jimmy Chang, American Portwell’s product marketing manager, points out that PEM-E200VLA is the latest ETX 3.0 module with a host of features, including Intel Atom processor, Intel 945GSE and ICH7M chipset, plus a built-in GMA 950 graphic engine that provides higher graphics frequency than the Intel 852GME chipset. “PEM-E200VLA also includes dual VGA and dual SATA as well the long life cycle support inherent in all Portwell products to give our customers peace of mind,” Chang adds. “The new PEM-E200VLA ETX 3.0 module joins our Qseven, COM Express, Nano-ITX, ECX and Mini-ITX form factors as part of the ATOM family in Portwell’s portfolio of embedded computers. Typical applications will include Automation, Transportation, Gaming and any application where an ultra-low-power embedded computing system is required,” he confirms.
