Follow on Google News | One, two, three, ‘paw’? ZSL London Zoo counts animals in annual stocktakeThe first week back to work after Christmas is always hectic, but count yourself lucky you’re not a ZSL London Zoo keeper this January.
By: Linsey Ford Over 750 different species of animals call the Zoo home, including meerkats, giraffes and zebras - so keepers have a mammoth count on their hands. The last year has seen many new inhabitants to the Zoo including the first lion cubs born in a decade, a new Komodo dragon and pair of nosey aardvarks. All will be included in the new head count which photographers, journalists and camera crews are invited to attend. The annual stocktake is a head count of all the animals at ZSL London Zoo and is a compulsory count required as part of our zoo license.
