Shiloh to Gatorade: Instead of Tiger, I'll be your pitch man

You make a real good product. Useful. Tasty. And I hear you need a new pitchman.

Look no further. To quote Leonard Cohen, I'm your man.

I'm totally serious.

Here are my credentials.  
* A former high school athlete. I run to the frig nowadays.
*Shovel snow in the winter, mow grass in the summer.

* Former Marketing employee for major restaurant chain
* Marketing survey experience

*FAMILY:
I've got a wife who has endured her own marathon of 18 years by being with me. We have two kids. A dog. A mortgage. I'm blue collar - and a writer, she's white collar.I tried that golf thing but have learned that 55 strokes on 9 holes isn't that good. I'm much better at Madden football. I did win two medals at the 2000 Prairie State Games in the discus and shot put, so I haven't been out of sports for terribly long. I sometimes do PR work for the semi pro football team in my area. Good bunch of guys.

OK, HERE'S MY PITCH TO YOU:

I guess what I bring to any potential sponsor is Reality. Not like those TV shows say they have. I get a 24/7 dose of it.

So I figure I know "what's what", as they say.

Make me your pitch man. The drink? "Shiloh Truth."

The slogan?

"Shiloh Truth: A Little Bitter, With a Sweet Back Kick, But It's Good For Ya.'"

I figure if you're a real guy, trying hard at life, you don't need sports or rock and roll or movie stars to look up to. Any decent guy with some attempt at making life happening, who works hard, is good to his family, is not in some air brushed image. It stares at him every morning and night when he brushes his teeth and shaves.

Anyway, Gatorade. Give my people a call. We'll do lunch.
