Dec. 16, 2009 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, NC – The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), the largest provider of off-campus student housing at North Carolina State University, Auburn University in Alabama, and the University of Texas in Austin and the second largest provider at UNC Charlotte, has announced the promotion of Heather Wilson to Property Manager of University Village at Clemson.  The property, which provides housing to over 1,000 students, is the largest off-campus housing community in Clemson.

In her role, Wilson will be responsible for managing the daily financial operations of the property, supervising the current property staff, finding and placing qualified tenants, developing rental agreements, enforcing tenant complaints and agreement compliance, and ensuring the overall management of property facilities.  Wilson has been with TPCO since 2008 and previously served as the property’s Assistant Property Manager.  She received both an Associates of Arts and an Associates of Science degree from Tri-County Technical College and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University, where she majored in Economics and minored in Management.

Wilson said that in her new role, she hopes to maintain current occupancy at 97%, as well as improve renewal retention by 5%.  “Clemson is such a wonderful place to work at, and I am very honored to be a part of such a great team,” says Wilson.  “I’m looking forward to adding new ideas and strategies in order to continue to improve our property.”

University Village at Clemson has 1,552 beds and offers 4-bed/4.5-bath and 4-bed/4-bath townhomes, as well as 4-bed/4-bath and 3-bed/3-bath garden-style apartments.  Property amenities include 24/7 clubhouse, computer lab, fitness center, two swimming pools, sand volleyball court, cabana, and basketball court.  Earlier this year, the property was named “Best Off-Campus Housing” by The Tiger, a weekly newspaper serving Clemson University.  It was the third consecutive year that the property was awarded this distinction by readers of the college publication.

TPCO Regional Manager, and former University Village at Clemson Property Manager, Adam Byrley says that Wilson played an integral part in lowering the property’s delinquency percentages every month and improved electricity overage collection.  He adds that her organizational and time management skills will be greatly utilized in her new role.

“Heather is one of the most professional people I have ever met,” says Byrley.  “She makes every person she speaks to feel appreciated, and her ability to serve the customer on a personal level is unmatched in this business.  She is a trusted liaison between the property-level staff and investors and has worked hard to earn the respect and admiration of everyone that works for her and with her.”
