Local Non-profit Hosts Tournament to Benefit Sustainability through

Bands For Lands is hosting Denver’s Coolest Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament to support the message of sustainability, conservation and social awareness.

Dec. 28, 2009 - PRLog -- Denver, Colorado - January 19, 2010 at 7 pm, 3 Kings Tavern kicks off the first of a series of Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournaments designed to benefit Bands for Lands, a local non-profit organization whose goal is to communicate the message of sustainability, conservation and social awareness through a co-mingling of education and entertainment. Coordinated by the founders of Bands for Lands, and endorsed and backed by the USARPS (www.usarps.com) this “RPS Tournament” is open to anyone and everyone (age 21+) who is ready to throw down with Denver’s finest competitors for a chance to win their piece of the cash pot.

The tournaments will be hosted at 3 Kings Tavern 60 S. Broadway on the third Tuesday of the month starting at 7pm.  Advanced registration is encouraged, but participants can register the night of the tournament up until 7pm.  Your $10 participation fee includes the $5 cover and a free drink, with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit BFL.  In addition to the RPS tournament, 3 Kings will have live performances from local and touring bands.  Guests are welcomed and encouraged to attend and support their “RPS” competitor as well as enjoy the music for a $5 cover fee.  Costumes are encouraged!

Cash prizes will be given to first, second and third places with additional prizes for fourth and fifth place compliments of participating sponsors. Space is limited.

Bands for Lands is a Colorado based 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to communicating the message and practice of sustainability, conservation and social awareness issues through the mediums of music, the creative arts, inspirational speakers, educators and activists. Bands for Lands has 14 years empowering and motivating audiences at over 300 events around the country. Net funds raised from these events are directed to local conservational, educational and philanthropic projects.
