Centric Parts Celebrates Successful 2009 As Stoptech Shines

Jan. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Centric Parts gathered a few more awards during the year.  These included the Supplier of the Year Award and 2009 Partnership Award from the National Pronto Association, a Vendor Excellence Award by Monro Muffler Brake, Inc., a Vendor of the Year award from Automotive Parts Associates (APA), a Primary Supplier designation from the Automotive Distribution Network, and the company's 7th consecutive FMSI Award from the Friction Materials Standards Institute Award for contributions to the automotive industry.

The Centric Parts CEO and Founder, Dino Crescentini, also earned a fair share of honors in 2009.  He was inducted into the Automotive Aftermarket Hall of Fame during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week in Las Vegas.  That honor as an industry executive joined his victory on the racetrack from the summer of 2009 when Crescentini took first place during the SCCA World Challenge race at Watkins Glen sporting the latest racing brake system from StopTech, the ultra performance division of Centric Parts.

StopTech brakes adorned many cars on the race track in 2009.  Team StopTech, composed of StopTech equipped cars on three teams in three separate race series, set a new watermark by landing 25 combined visits to the podium or pole-position earning qualifiers during the season.  These included victories at the Long Beach Grand Prix and Laguna Seca.

StopTech went from offering one line of Big Brake Kits (BBK) to three in 2009.  At the beginning of the year, the StopTech BBK was joined by the track-only StopTech Trophy Big Brake Kit (TM) featuring the new Trophy STR lightweight forged caliper.  This was followed up at the end of the year by the release of the StopTech Trophy Sport BBK, which is a street-friendly version of the Trophy BBK.

Looking ahead, one star for 2010 is shaping up to be the StopTech Street Performance Brake Pads announced at SEMA.  The first full line of brake pads from StopTech combines the benefits of premium street brake pads with aggressive friction formulas suitable for light track use. The early feedback from customers and tuners who have taken the pads onto the track shows a promising year ahead for Centric Parts and its divisions.
