By: Janyce Brandon “We are confident that every Vail Gay Ski Week visitor will have a great time, and it will be direct results of all who have been so supportive in helping us reach our goal of raising funds for the GLBT Community Center of Colorado,” stated Tommy Z. Hoffman, founder of Hoffman Outreach. “We are thankful to all who have shown their support and know that the event will be a success!” A few of the local relationships Vail Gay Ski Week has formed include businesses such as Vail Mountain Coffee, Vail Sports, the Turtle Bus, Alpine Party Rentals, Pink Monkey Solutions, and also includes over 70 people interested in volunteering. “We will have over 100 volunteers helping us make this event run smoothly,” said Rebekah Murphy, Vail Gay Ski Week Volunteer Coordinator. For more information regarding volunteer opportunities, Murphy can be reached at Rebekah.murphy@ With hundreds of pre-registrations to date, and two weeks until the event begins, organizers are estimating that over 500 visitors will attend the event, with the potential for over 1,000. “People planning to attend should call to order their tickets; we are worried about people being left out of some of the event’s activities,” The event has a schedule full of skiing, shopping, parties, and more. Local community members have assisted organizers by donating to the Angel Wings Benefit Dinner, which will take place on January 29, 2010, by volunteering their time, and by extending discounts and more to guests. Anyone may attend the activities, access specials, and purchase party tickets by registering for free at www.VailGaySkiWeek.com.
