By: O2 MAX Fitness The morning began with a workout at Douglas Park on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica. Families warmed up, competed in a relay race, and then learned proper stretching and cool-down techniques. The kids also raced through an obstacle course. Jack, the son of an LA Triathlon Club member won a backpack and water bottle by completing a series including jumping jacks, crunches, push-ups & running in only 35 seconds! After the workout, the group walked down to Whole Foods Market to participate in a Scavenger Hunt alongside Kelly Layne, the Marketing Supervisor, where they learned about positive eating habits. Kids were asked to find their favorite snacks including organic fruits and vegetables, crackers, juice, cheese and cereal. “Parents are always looking for inexpensive ways to stay active with their kids.” -Karen Jashinsky, founder of O2 MAX The idea behind F2 is that kids at any age can be developing habits for a healthy and active lifestyle. O2 MAX makes that easy by providing events that are both fun and engaging. Kids learn by example, and what better way than to have kids learning about fitness right alongside their parents. O2 MAX is redefining fitness for youth by empowering them to embrace exercise, nutrition, and healthy living through a diverse online and offline community that pioneers the integration of educational, social, and recreational elements.
