Jan. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- StyleshopUSA announces new client Atelier Annick by Annick Adjo Handbags worn by Celebrities such as Cheryl Cole ( who works with Simon Cowell on the X Factor UK - Coming to the USA soon), and on the cover of OK Magazine UK this week. Gifted at the Christmas 09 Jingle Bell Ball in London to Janet Jackson, Shakira, Lady Gaga.

Adjo, was born and brought up in Paris to parents originating from Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa. She now lives in West London UK, where she designs her handbags and accessories range. Adjo uses her ecclectic cultural background as an inspiration when designing her distinctive collections. Having previously worked for Giorgio Armani, in Harrods London, and with groups such as LVMH and Richmont, as the head of Luxury Goods.

But, it was while working at the Financial Times Newspaper, Adjo’s eye for quality led to her spotting a gap in the market for unique and individual leather goods. A trip to Cote-d’Ivoire cemented her concept, and was the inspiration for the Atelier Annick brand. The creativity, colours and the textures found in Africa stimulated the signature theme. Woven strips called Kente, created by a team of skilled craftsmen together with African printed textiles, are all incorporated in the handbags and help set the label apart. Adjo says, “By adding my innovative product to the market, I am allowing others an opportunity to experience a distinctive fusion of cultures, whilst still keeping in tone with the elegance and exclusivity expected of a designer handbag.”

Since launching her collection just over 2 years ago, Adjo has celebrated several achievements; in November 2007 she was selected by the Mayor of London’s Office to preview her collection on the catwalk at the legendary Victoria & Albert Museum with resounding success. In June 2008: The collection was then launched at Pulse Exhibition  in Earls Court, London. In November 2008: Annick was the winner of the Precious Business Start up Award; an Award that recognises Enterprise by women of colour. January 2008: She has also exhibited at the highly acclaimed Pret a Porter Show in Paris, where she opened accounts in Japan, Spain and France. 2009 proved to be Atelier Annick’s most successful yet, as the handbags were featured in the UK Press (Trade mag-Drapers Fashion, Fashion Extra, Attire- OK magazine, Grazia, Marie-Claire... and endorsed by Celebrities, such as Cheryl Cole among others.

After arriving in the USA only 24 hours Atelier Annick bags have already been whisked off to the Sundance Film Festival to be worn by celebrity Hofit Golan, already a proud owner of one of Adjos fabulous furry clutch purses!
