Lucky Entertainment label mates Joonya and TrakBoss collaborate for 'Smoke Session' the Mixtape

Feb. 13, 2010 - PRLog -- 'Smoke Session' is a free mixtape that showcases the lyrical genius, creativity, and production skills of hip-hop artists Joonya & TrakBoss. The duo goes back and forth, bringing listeners into their world using their original lyrics and well-known instrumentals.

"It's called 'Smoke Session' but it's not just a bunch of songs about smoking. We didn't exclude songs about smoking, but our overall goal is to tell the listener, what we do, how we think, and how we see things," says Trak Boss, who stepped out of the booth to produce "Mind of a Monster" on the mixtape.

"People will be surprised", Joonya adds. "We have thought-provoking songs like "What If" & "In the End", and then on songs like "Smoke Session" and "Mind of a Monster" we just go ham. We stepped out of normal hip hop bounds and added our own swag."

You Got Me - Joonya expresses his struggle with making decisions as a man and the pressures of life and family obligations. TrakBoss discusses the idea of sacrifice and dedication while pursuing his music dream. The smoothness of The Roots' "You Got Me" make Joonya & TrakBoss' version all the more powerful.

Human After All - TrakBoss and Joonya take a chance at adding hip-hop flavor to the popular Daft Punk song. Staying with the subject matter, the two tackle the idea of living up to life's pressure, high expectations, and remaining down-to-earth, regular people. The two flow over the up tempo track with ease, making it very well-worth listening to. Any Daft Punk fan would be impressed.
