Having developed the two Max Payne titles, it looks like they were ready for something a bit grander than they've tried before. Alan Wake is a "psychological action thriller" set in a small town in Washington and the surrounding area and follows the game's namesake as he deals with his seriously screwed up psyche. Whether the bad things happening are mystic or madness is yet to be determined. What we do know is that Remedy has created a fully explorable environment for that creepy action to take place. It's a fully functional simulated little world and it's about to get dark."
