By: Infant Toddler Family Day Care (ITFDC) Event Details: March 27, 2010 11:00am to 1:00pm at Fairfax High School (3502 Rebel Run, Fairfax, VA 22030) The Play Workshop is an opportunity for parents and Early Child Care Educators to experience plan and discover how young children learn. According to the Zero to Three Foundation, young children develop the skills needed to be lifelong learners by experiencing high quality play activites. These skills include: - Confidence: Children feels likely to succeed at their undertakings - Curiosity: Finding out about things is positive and leads to pleasure - Intentionality: - Self Control: The ability to control one's own action - Relatedness: - Capacity to Communicate: - Cooperativeness: Spotlight Speaker: Ileene Hoffman, early childcare expert, Found and Executive Director of ITFDC. Mrs. Hoffman can draw connections between early childhood development and success later in life; she can discuss how the combination of small, family-based settings and trained early child care educators make a difference.
