Award-Winning French Film “One Deadly Summer” Makes DVD Debut on May 11

One Deadly Summer synopsis
Eliane, a beautiful young woman settles into a small town in the south of France with her introverted mother and physically handicapped father. Traumatized by the knowledge that her mother was attacked by three immigrants before she was born, Eliane is bent on a trail of vengeance when she catches the attention of a young garage mechanic (Alain Souchon), whose father holds the only clue to the identity of her mother’s aggressors. But as the story unfolds in Rashomon-like flashbacks and narrations, not everything is what it seems and the tale becomes increasingly complex, leading inexorably to a stunning conclusion that’s impossible to forget.

Isabelle Adjani (Queen Margot, Camille Claudel, Diabolique) stars in One Deadly Summer (L’Été Meurtrier), director Jean Becker’s (Children of the Marshland, Conversations with My Gardener) César-winning film of misunderstanding, obsession, and madness. The film received wide acclaim upon its release and was the recipient of four César awards (France’s equivalent of the Oscars) including Best Actress for Adjani.
