Follow on Google News | CEO of Community Hospital to Take the Reins of the Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of CommerceThe 99-year-old Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber has tapped the CEO Heidi Lennartz of Mission Community Hospital, as their new Chairperson of the Board.
Mission Community Hospital (Mission) was named in 1998 upon the merger of San Fernando Community Hospital, founded in 1923, and Panorama Community Hospital, founded in 1964. Together, they met the needs of a growing working community. The Greater San Fernando Valley Chamber of Commerce is also a merger of two Chambers -- Van Nuys Chamber, established in 1911, and the Panorama City/Sepulveda Chamber, established in 1989. CEO Lennartz has worked with Mission Community Hospital since 1995 at both the San Fernando and Panorama City Campuses, bringing the organization’ Ms. Lennartz began her career as a licensed social worker in the field of mental health and found her passion in healthcare administration. She achieved her Masters of Social Work at the University of Southern California, specializing in Community Organizing/Public Administration. Her work in healthcare spans over 15 years, from her work in New York City to work with the AIDS community in L.A. She has served as a board member of Shanti Foundation and Mission Community Hospital before being appointed as CEO of Mission.
