By: Sabrina Chia SAMSUNG WAVE AFF’10 FASHION COLLECTION “Archetype” A renowned staunch conceptual designer with an archetypical approach, Ben Wu indulged in human observation of mobile users‟ lifestyle and the style of the Samsung Wave smartphone to craft his designs. “My creations are all about aesthetics and inspired by the diamond shapes found on the Samsung Wave smartphone,” His collection presents an interesting amplified messaged work of art that is stylish, useful, meaningful and most of all, original. “Fanatic” A subtle hooded-cape design that comes with its own concealed cable management for your favourite earpieces, this is the time when your phone becomes a media player and you can space out in isolation as you drift with your playback in peaceful delight. “Addict” A trendy glove accessory design organically tailored to hold your phone at all times, assuming that our hands are free… you will never miss your phone nor lose it! “Ethic” A handy bag design that comes with a clear screen cover to showcase your phone, it also has an acoustic lower compartment that allows you to safe keep your phone. You can also choose to pick up or not pick your phone as and when deemed necessary. About Ben Wu benWU, an environmental designer turned fashion designer, is one of the Singapore‟s crop of avant-garde trend-setting designers. Bearing influence from his earlier architectural studies, his designs are inspired by contemporary architectural fundamentals that delve into the re-morphing of graphical structures, layers and lines; boldly inventing, redefining, and discovering new ways to interpret feminism. He sees all his collections as a chain of working processes. His design has been showcased in New York, Milan and Paris. Today, benWU focuses on couture creation, hoping to convert more of his inner thoughts of processes to help better define Singapore Fashion Scene. - Ends - About Samsung and Singapore Fashion Samsung continues to reinforce its commitment to Singapore‟s fashion scene through the participation in the Audi Fashion Festival 2010 as its official mobile phone brand, following its sponsorships of Singapore Fashion Festival in 2008 and Audi Fashion Festival in 2009.
