52nd Annual Dearborn Garden Walk Announces Design Teams for ‘Hollywood-Inspired' Garden Vignettes

April 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Chicago’s 52nd Dearborn Garden Walk – presented by the North Dearborn Association – is one of the country’s oldest garden walks. Each year, this nationally-recognized garden walk draws crowds from all over the world to take part in a one-day, self-guided walking tour of more than twenty of Chicago’s most spectacular, private rear gardens. The 52nd Dearborn Garden Walk will take place on Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 12pm-5pm and begins at 1300 N. Dearborn Parkway, Chicago, IL 60610 (entrance at corner of Goethe and Dearborn streets). Tickets are $35.00 on July 18, 2010 and $30.00 in advance. Advance sales end on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at 12:00pm – all advance ticket purchasers are automatically entered in drawings for goods and services from neighborhood businesses. Due to the overwhelming popularity and interest of last year’s ‘Literary Garden Tour,’ the NDA has expanded the designer garden vignettes for 2010. Highlights include more than seven “Hollywood-inspired” outdoor seating vignettes showcasing dramatic outdoor rooms and utilizing a variety of outdoor tables, chairs, colorful cushions, linens, floral decorations, and other accessories including fine china, crystal, and flatware. The following design teams will be participating in this year’s Garden Vignette Tour with additional talented designers to come:
* Anne and Howard Stolar, owners of Carol Wolk Interiors LLC: For forty-years, this firm – run by the founder’s daughter - has specialized in designs ranging from easy Contemporary to inviting Traditional
* Steven Burgert, owner of I.D.: A modern design showroom
* Jase Frederick Design: Sustainable Interiors and Consulting
* Laura Barnett Designs: Full-service design consultation and project supervision for both residential and commercial clients
* Stanley Smith, Managing Director of Oak Street Design Corporation: A visual design resource providing design, fabrication and installation
* Soucie Horner Ltd.: A nationally recognized residential interior architecture and design firm
* Susan Fredman Design Group: Award-winning residential and commercial interior design firm

In addition to the self-guided walking tour and garden vignettes, visitors can participate in an hour-long, wonderfully entertaining and educational sidewalk guided tour of historic Dearborn Parkway that highlights the outstanding architectural facades in the neighborhood. The architectural tour, which starts at 1:30pm, 3:30pm, and 5:00pm, includes both pre and post-Chicago fire structures, sites that have been used in movies, homes formerly occupied by famous celebrities, and even a US President!
