‘Sound’ Training with ISVR

April 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Sound and vibration specialist, Bruel & Kjaer UK, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the Institute of Sound & Vibration Research’s (ISVR) Advanced Course 2010.

Developed to offer degree programmes and continual professional development, ISVR’s training course runs over three days - and also offers an optional two day refresher beforehand, in the principles of vibration and acoustics.

Upon completion of the refresher segment, students will spend the rest of the course receiving training within one of these key areas:

Advanced Course in Noise Control outlines the underlying principles of noise control, examines the character of noise in some key applications and discusses how noise may be reduced by design or through palliative treatment. The course is divided into three sections: Basic principles, Techniques, and Applications and Case histories.

Advanced Course in Structural Dynamics helps delegates to fully appreciate the nature of structural dynamics and provides an overview of the potential and applicability of some measurement and analysis techniques.

Advanced Course in Aeroacoustics provides a sound practical basis for acousticians and engineers working at an advanced level within areas such as turbomachinery noise, aerodynamically generated noise in ducts and air moving systems, noise generated by unsteady flow over airframes and motor vehicles and noise generated by unsteady turbulent mixing in jets and wakes.

The training sessions will take place between 13th and 17th September in building 2 on the University of Southampton’s main Highfield Campus.

Founded in 1963, ISVR is widely acknowledged as one of the world’s foremost centers for the study of sound and vibration phenomena.
