April 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Colorado Technical University, a leading provider of education for career-motivated students, announces the launch of online degree concentrations in software application programming and organizational leadership and change.

The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with the new concentration in software application programming focuses on JAVA, stressing information technology foundations and software development life cycle. The software application programming concentration is part of the CTU strategy to build upon other BSIT concentrations in web development, software systems engineering, security and network management.

The Master of Science in Management has a new concentration in organizational leadership and change. Leaders who understand how to keep their teams focused and developing will help their organizations thrive in the ever-changing business environment. The program aims to teach leaders how to be an innovator for change, how to energize teams for results, how to inspire, and how to lead with integrity. Both degree concentrations are available nationally online, making the courses easily accessible to busy students and professionals.

"We are always working to develop new degree programs that address today’s workforce and changing business environment," said Dr. Wallace Pond, chief executive officer for CTU. "These new degree concentrations provide two additional options for students seeking our career-relevant technology and management programs."

The online degree offerings include:
· Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a concentration in software application programming. The U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates a 21 percent nationwide increase in computer programming jobs from 2008 to 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations, though local employment markets may vary. Students enrolled in this degree program will get a strong foundation in key IT areas, as well as an enhanced look at the System Development Life Cycle and experience using the JAVA programming language to develop applications.

· Master of Science in Management with a concentration in organizational leadership and change. With business processes and organizational flow largely in flux with the changing economic environment, this degree is designed to help business leaders broaden their understanding and experience in organizational leadership and change management best practices. The program features courses in organizational behavior, strategic management and organizational change.
