April 26, 2010 - PRLog -- Now a certified box-office hit in the Philippines, making over P82 million in three weeks, ABS-CBN International’s Starry Starry Store has decided to add two more cities to the U.S. theatrical run of Babe, I Love You.  Beginning April 30, the film will be shown in two more theaters: Century Great Mall in Milpitas, California and Regal Lincolnshire in Lincolnshire, a village that is a suburb of Chicago, Illinois.

The film will also run as scheduled in Los Angeles-Cerritos, Honolulu and New Jersey-Bergenfield after finishing its run in San Francisco and San Diego, California, Las Vegas, Nevada and Seattle, Washington.

The success of Star Cinema’s Babe, I Love You (second only to Clash of the Titans in the past three weeks in the Philippines and poised to hit P100 million) cemented the reputation of the Sam Milby- Anne Curtis loveteam as a box-office draw on the big screen.  Babe, I Love You is the first movie team-up of Sam and Anne, a former real-life couple, who had scored huge success as an on-screen TV duo in the TFC teleserye hits, Maging Sino Ka Man and Diyosa.

At the helm of this hit movie is successful TV director Mae Czarina Cruz who is directing her first full-length feature film.  She is, however, familiar with the on-screen capabilities and smoldering sex appeal of Sam and Anne, having directed them in Maging Sino Ka Man. Cruz is all praise for Sam and Anne who she described as “two of the most professional stars of their generation who listen and take their crafts seriously.”

Babe, I Love You revolves around the story of two individuals living in opposite worlds who somehow managed to turn a cat-and-dog relationship into an intimate affair.  But will the romance last?

This romantic comedy also stars Nikki Valdez, Guji Lorenzana, Tetchie Agbayani, AJ Perez, Meagan Young, Leo Rialp and Laurice Guillen, among a host of new and veteran stars.

“For the third week of April in the Philippines, Box Office Mojo showed how strong Babe, I Love You is, beating almost all current global box-office winners from the U.S.  This success is evident also here in the U.S. during the film’s theatrical run in various cities.  This augurs well for Sam Milby and Anne Curtis and we look forward to seeing them together in more films on the big screen,” said Kerwin Du, ABS-CBN International’s head of theatricals.
