Follow on Google News | Three Elant At Wappingers Employees Earn Recognition From NYS Health Facilities AssociationThree Elant at Wappingers Falls employees have been selected for employee recognition awards by the New York State Health Facilities Association.

Lynn Sadowsky, who has been with Elant since 1996, was chosen as New York State LPN of the Year, while Darlene Bates, a physical therapy assistant and rehab coordinator at Elant at Wappingers Falls, was selected as the “Hearts & Hands” New York State award recipient. Sonia McLean, a CNA and 2010 Spirit of Elant award recipient, was selected as Region 4 Certified Nursing Assistant of the Year. The awards are granted to honor staffers for their outstanding contributions to skilled nursing facilities. Awards are given in the following categories: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Nursing Assistant, and the “Hearts & Hands” award for non-nursing/ “All three of these amazing women bring so much to our residents and to their fellow staff members; we are so thrilled to have their efforts recognized,” Sadowsky and Bates, a 2009 Spirit of Elant award recipient, will be recognized with a plaque and $250 at an awards ceremony during the NYSHFA/NYSCAL Annual Convention in June in Lake Placid. About Lynn: “Lynn truly cares not only for the residents, but treats her staff as if they were her own family,” said a staff member who nominated Lynn for the award. “The families trust her, the staff depend on her, and the residents love him/her,” said another staffer. About Darlene: “She came to my house, taught me and the other caregivers how to do specific tasks, and became an integral part of our household,” said a family member who nominated Darlene. “She acted in the capacity of confidant, friend, therapist, spiritual guide and entertainer, and when (my husband) died, she was truly heartbroken, as we all were.” About Sonia: “Sonia is a team player whose high energy level earns her the respect of her peers.
