Ecotrain Media Group Green Education Scholarship Awarded

May 7, 2010 - PRLog -- The Dalles, OR – May 8, 2010 – The Ecotrain Media Group scholarship committee is pleased to announce its first quarter scholarship recipient: Ashton Thurneyssen. Ashton is a Hood River resident attending the Columbia Gorge Community College in the Renewable Energy Technology program.

As a result of their developing sustainable business model, this is the first donation for Ecotrain Media Group, LLC to their “green education scholarship.” Funds for the scholarships are raised with 5% of the proceeds for each purchase of the Ecotrain Green Career Guide Almanac. The Ecotrain Green Education Scholarship fund was started with the cofounders belief in expanding Ecotrain Media Group’s mission in helping others along their green career pathway.

“I am excited to award our first scholarship to Ashton; he really deserves this. I am very grateful to return to The Dalles, and say thank you. One year ago, the Ecotrain Green Career Guide was a concept, and was inspired while I was attending the Renewable Energy program here in The Dalles. The first publication was only made possible with the generous public service of The Dalles Public Library, the Columbia Gorge Community College, and the wifi connection at the Windy River Lounge late night.  This experience is emotionally heightened with our first award being presented to one of my former fellow cohort students. This is an awesome experience.” explains Ecotrain cofounder Kevin Pile.

Ashton, a 2nd year student with the Renewable Energy program, states his attendance is “not just because it is a great job opportunity, but because it has been a life long interest and passion. I believe this is the time to create a new way of thinking for future generations.”   Ecotrain Media Group is proud to support these passions, interests, and pursuits.
