Jeff Foster, Author of The Green Screen Handbook, Wins Telly Award for “Visions Of America”

May 11, 2010 - PRLog -- Producer, author, motion graphics expert and trainer, Jeff Foster, received a 31st Annual 2010 Bronze Telly Award in the Professional Infomercial category for his video, “Visions of America,” based on the book by internationally recognized photographer and author Joseph Sohm. The video is a detailed tour through “Visions Of America,” a book that spans three decades and tens of thousands of images that were assembled in a compelling, grand journey across the fifty states to create an American canvas of stories. With music by pianist Roger Kellaway and lyrics by two of America’s most distinguished songwriters, Alan and Marilyn Bergman, “Visions of America” is a work of historic value and significance.

“Joe Sohm first came to me after viewing another client’s documercial I produced, “The Art of Aging,” by artists and authors Alice & Richard Matzkin,” explained Foster. “He wanted a piece that would not only show the content of his book but also his shared passion for the topic of his life’s work, to photograph democracy. I shot the video interviews with assistance from Michael Anderson (Extra Mile Films) and used Panasonic P2 HD cameras that I used on the production and testing of my just released book, “The Green Screen Handbook.”

The Telly Awards were founded in 1978 to honor excellence in local, regional, cable TV commercials, non-broadcast video and TV programs. Today, the Telly is one of the most sought-after awards by industry leaders, from large international firms to local production companies and ad agencies. “Visions of America” was a 2009 IPPY Awards National Category Gold Medal Winner book and was called “an epic work so breathtaking that it is nearly beyond written description” by The Library Journal.
