Follow on Google News | Elant Foundation elects new leadership to its Board of DirectorsThe Elant Foundation, the fundraising arm of Elant, Inc., has welcomed two new officers to its Board of Directors following the annual board election process held in April.
By: Elant, Inc. Joseph J. Minuta, owner of Minuta Architecture, PLLC in New Windsor, was elected as chairman of the Board of Directors of the Elant Foundation, while Paul S. Ernenwein, a litigator with Tarshis, Catania, Liberth, Mahon & Milligram, in Newburgh, was elected vice chairman. “My goal is to inspire the Foundation Board to remain focused on strong fundraising efforts so that we can continue to contribute to the enhancement of the Elant experience for Elant’s residents, patients, staff, and visitors,” Mr. Minuta said. “We will stay centered on strong fiscal management and logistics to address the ever-changing needs and perceptions that define quality of life.” Mr. Minuta, a New Windsor native, returned to the area after having lived and worked in both Italy and other parts of the United States. He is a registered architect licensed to practice in 49 states and the District of Columbia, with Alaska registration pending. He is New York State Code Certified and certified by (NCARB) the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and (CACB) the Canadian Architectural Certification Board. Mr. Minuta previously served as vice chairman under Will Thorpe, who did not pursue another term on the Foundation Board. “I am so fortunate to have gained life-long friends as the greatest benefit of my service, including Joe Minuta,” Mr. Thorpe said. “Not a week has gone by that we haven’t brain-stormed ideas to address the everyday challenges encountered by a large non-profit organization. I’m confident that Joe, who is an innovative, forward thinking individual, can support and sustain the events and programs which have developed during my tenure and the energy to take the Foundation to the next level.” Mr. Minuta, a graduate of the Pratt Institute, joined the Board in April 2008, while Mr. Ernenwein, a graduate of the Western New England College School of Law, joined the Board in February 2009. Both are graduates of Newburgh Free Academy. Mr. Minuta, who is also involved in the Elant at Newburgh Renewing Committee, was the 2007 recipient of the Elant Foundation’s Signature Award for enhancing health care and housing for the elderly through philanthropy, vision, and communication. As Foundation Board chairman, he will also have a place on the Elant, Inc. Board of Directors. “It is my sincere hope to continue Will Thorpe’s legacy of compassion in a business environment by giving to those less fortunate with all the time, talent, and treasure one can muster, even in tough economic times,” Mr. Minuta said. Before returning to the Newburgh area in 2000, Mr. Ernenwein spent five years working at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office. “The Board is made up of such an incredibly inspiring group of people,” said Mr. Ernenwein, a member of the Foundation’s Planned Giving Committee. “I am very optimistic about the Foundation’s ability to continue to improve the quality of life for Elant’s residents.” The remainder of the Elant Foundation Board of Directors remained static and includes: Corinne Smith, Barbara Riemer, David Kaufman, Carol Holbert, and Barbara George. # # # Elant, Inc., a community-based, not-for-profit organization, has been a part of the Hudson Valley healthcare landscape for the past 25 years.
