Precocious Kids Publishing Introduces New Category of Children’s Books and Explores Ancestry’s

May 19, 2010 - PRLog -- Precocious Kids Publishing, LLC (PKP), has introduced a new category of children’s books referred to as “HI/HI” for having high interest level and requiring high reading skill level according to PKP Founder and President Nedra Sims Fears. The books are designed to explore the ancestry of young Americans from non-European Ethnic Groups in a fun, fast-pace and entertaining way.  

“Children’s books have traditionally been published for children who read at or below grade level,” said Fears.  “Young children who read above grade level have are given higher and higher grade level books until they wind up in the young adult section where they may easily be exposed to inappropriate material for their age.”

PKP’s objective is to serve this HI/HI niche by providing challenging reading level, high interest and age appropriate books for children under 12.  PKP has another and equally important mission regarding children’s books. That mission is to provide children’s book series that explores the ancestry of young Americans from non-European Ethnic Groups.  PKP’s first series is targeted at American Girls whose ancestors hailed from Africa. The books incorporate elements of action-adventure, science fiction, history and mystery. The books are also designed to engender positive self-esteem regardless of the Diasporas from which the girls hail.  

The first book is titled “The Secret of the Golden Rings, Book One – Igboland”. The book follows the adventures of five girl cousins who get together at a family reunion in 22nd century USA and travel back in time to 18th century Nigeria to ensure the continuity of the family’s timeline.  The series covers 3 books that take an in-depth look into the art, customs and culture of the character’s heritage in a fun, fast-pace and entertaining way.

“The Secret of the Golden Rings” comes in hardcover, is full color throughout and is priced at USD$18.95. It is currently available at Amazon.com and is being marketed to bookstores, schools and libraries nationwide.
