Follow on Google News | Birches Group Announces Salary Survey Results for IraqInternational HR Consultant Birches Group LLC has announced the publication of compensation survey results in Iraq. The survey is the firm's first successful survey in Iraq since 1997. Employers interested in the results are invited to contact us.
Compensation plans of surveyed employers remain relatively simple - and aside from the medical-related benefits - do not exhibit patterns of common benefits. In most instances, the compensation plan is made up solely of base salary, even for leadership and managerial positions. This study gives a glimpse at the current local labour market in Iraq. From the beginning of hostilities in 2003 to the challenges that Iraq continues to face, the labour market is also seen to slowly evolve with the equally unhurried entry of multinational employers. At the moment, however, FDI inflows remain a promise, not a reality; and its effect on economic activity is not yet apparent. The establishment of operations thus continues to be an activity undertaken mostly by international organizations that constitute a wide swath of the labour market. Iraq’s economy is still heavily state-run, though privatization is a continuous pressure on policy makers --- especially privatization for the petroleum sector. This is the first salary survey successfully conducted by Birches Group in Iraq since 1997. Anticipating that there will continue to be dynamic changes in the market, an update is already planned for later this year, in October.
