Follow on Google News | Allstate to be Exclusive Named Sponsor of Long Island Cruizin’ for a CureAllstate recently presented LI Cruizin’ for a Cure with a check for $15,000, as the exclusive named sponsor for their fifth annual classic car event benefitting prostate cancer research and education, which takes place Sept. 12, 2010 in Melville.
The Jericho-based Cruizin’ for a Cure provides free PSA testing at the show, available for all male attendees. The all-volunteer organization has given more than 700 PSA tests in the last four years, and discovered 16 cancer cases. “We thank Allstate for believing in us, and supporting our event and ongoing campaign to educate Long Island about the need to get tested regularly for prostate cancer,” said Cruizin’ founder and prostate cancer survivor Sandy Kane. “Even though there is a high incidence of prostate cancer on Long Island, if it is caught early enough the rate of recovery is extremely high.” Allstate agents Francisco Mercado of Flushing and Robert Zabbia of Massapequa will be among several agency owners and antique car buffs who will be displaying their autos at the show. “Allstate is proud to begin this important partnership with Long Island Cruizin’ for a Cure, said spokesperson Krista Conte. “Not only is it an excellent cause, but our participation will raise awareness about the importance of cancer insurance, and as Allstate is the leading auto insurer on Long Island, it’s a perfect way for us to reach car enthusiasts.” Visit www.licruizinforacure.com for more details on the event.
