Hidden Beaches of Phuket, Thailand

June 1, 2010 - PRLog -- One of my favourite Phuket beaches is one which is often overlooked - and that's exactly why I like it.

It's not what you would describe as a hidden beach - in fact access is very easy via a tarmaced road and there is plenty of parking - but this beach has been relatively undiscovered by mass tourism even though it lies just minutes from one of the major resort areas of Phuket.

This secluded beach is well known to locals and a few expats who own or live in some of the holiday apartments or hillside villas which are located close by. A few sunbeds line the beach shaded by colourful parasols and there's a small family run local restaurant and bar which serves delicious Thai snacks and great cocktails - they'll even bring them over to your sunbed so you can just lie there soaking up the sun and listening to the sea washing up on the shore.

The other reason I like this beach is that it's not been overcrowded by mass development - which is why the beach stays so quiet.

Lotus Gardens is a small development set in established tropical gardens, located just a five minute walk from this beach. It provides a perfectly quiet environment to enjoy weekends away from a busy schedule or a family holiday away from the tourist crowds.

Apartments are exceptionally spacious, the smallest being the Garden Residence at 194m2, which features two bedrooms and a private terrace with dining area.  The largest units are the Garden Penthouses at 483m2, which have a duplex design with a spacious west facing terrace looking out towards the ocean.  

Some of my favorite apartments are the Sunset Residences which have great views of the sun setting over the beach.  They are a duplex design with light modern interiors and open plan kitchen, living and dining areas opening out onto the terrace.  They are great for entertaining, having a large outdoor dining area and plunge pool, or simply relaxing with a glass of wine.

One of the greatest advantages of Lotus Gardens in comparison to other developments in Phuket is the spacious landscaped gardens which are fully established and planted with lush tropical plants and trees which create a delicious fragrance in the evening or early morning.  The gardens surround a well presented lap pool with a spacious terrace, lined with sun loungers and parasols.

Apartments are fully managed and owners can take advantage of a comprehensive concierge service for restaurants and spa reservations, golf and a wide range of recreational activities - you can even order your favourite foods, wines and cocktails which will be prepared and served in your private residence or in the gardens...the choice of location is yours.

If you enjoy the seclusion, peace and tranquillity, the sound of birds chirping and water trickling in the tropical gardens' many water features then you will truly love the serenity of Lotus Gardens.
