George Clooney. Well it’s definitely true that Clooney owns the gorgeous Villa Oleandra in Laglio, Lake Como. He can be seen out and about in his Maserati and often plays Golf just along the lake in Menaggio.

Brad Pitt. Over the last few years there have been rumours that Brad and Angelina have bought near to George Clooney, as Brad and George pursue a bromance. Not true. Brad and George have holidayed together but that’s as far as it goes – and Brad has not been seen at the Lake for two years.

Richard Branson and Michael Schumacher. Why these two together? Depending on whom you ask the Villa Cassinella in Lenno is owned by one or the other! There are stories that the Villa is only accessible by Helicopter, and that there are tunnels directly into the mountains for a quick getaway – all rubbish. This one is still a mystery, but our money goes on Richard Branson.

Matt Bellamy. A band member of the worlds biggest rock group, Muse, has a Villa near Cernobbio on Lake Como according to legend. This is in fact true, although if he lives there all year is open to speculation.

Donatella Versace  The late designer Gianni Versace, Donatella’s brother, once lived on Lake Como, and his Villa Fontanelle remained boarded up until its recent sale Donatella’s got her own villa on the same lake, so it’s clear that this fashionable family love Lake Como.

Gordon Brown. Yes it was actually rumoured that the former UK prime minister had bought a Villa near to Tremezzo – it’s not true.

Jose Maurinho. The outspoken football manager has a stunning Villa in Cernobbio overlooking the lake and Como city. Now that he has departed Milan to mange in Spain there is speculation that he will sell. According to Maurinho it’s not up for sale and never will be!
