By: DDB Asia Pacific Date 29 June, 2010 Location DDB Group Asia Pacific won its largest haul of ‘lions’ at this year’s Cannes Lions 57th International Advertising Festival. Over the week-long festival, DDB Group Asia Pacific won 14 lions in total including three golds, seven silvers and three bronzes. DDB China Group won its first Cannes Lion gold - for its ‘Green Pedestrian Crossing’ campaign for the China Environmental Foundation. As the only gold lion won by China this year, it was also the second gold won by mainland China in the history of the festival. John Zeigler, Chairman & CEO of DDB Group Asia Pacific, Japan and India said, "Cannes is the most prestigious and toughest advertising festival in the world. To win 14 lions, compared to only five last year, really proves we are now up there with the very best. “Our DDB agencies in the Pacific always do well. However, who would have expected DDB China Group would win China’s second Gold lion ever and that DDB Group Singapore would walk away with three lions?” “Our region managed to win more than a quarter of DDB’s total medal tally this year, which included successes for India, with DDB Mudra, and The Philippines, with DDB DM9 JaymeSyfu -- proving again why it’s one of the nation’s best agencies. This is a proud moment for DDB Group Asia Pacific and I’m pleased to be part of it,” he added. DDB Worldwide won 52 lions globally, including two grand prix and was ranked no.2 most awarded agency network at this year’s Cannes Festival.
