John LaGattuta to exhibit his furniture at D'Lago Gallery in New Preston CT

July 2, 2010 - PRLog -- In the new D'Lago Gallery in New Preston CT, John LaGattuta, owner of Northwest Corner Woodworks, is partnering with Artist Richard Orsatti to show original furniture and artwork along with fine examples of collectible art pottery and decorative arts.

For nearly 20 years Mr. LaGattuta has been making custom furniture for private clients, high-end Inns & Hotels, and corporations at his Torrington, CT workshop.  Working with varied designers and collectors has given him the opportunity to work in a wide range of styles, from 17th century through mid 20th century designs.

Over the course of his career he has become noted as an expert in chair making, affording his clients the convenience of having exact reproductions made to fill out incomplete sets of period chairs. Another prominent example of his work can be viewed  at the Church of Jesu Fili Mariae on the grounds of The Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, CT, where he fabricated the curved choir stalls behind the main alter and enclosure.

Guests of the Mayflower Inn and Spa in Washington, CT can appreciate his furniture while staying in one of the spa guest rooms.  The beds feature prominently as well as numerous other major pieces in the elegantly appointed rooms.
