July 18, 2010 - PRLog -- "Alive" is a new song by the English combo Goldfrapp from a 5th album (Head First). It was written and produced by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory, with more production by Richard X, this song released as the second single of the album on 7 June 2010. The music video was premiered on 20 May 2010 via youtube.  The 'Alive' single was the 1st complete release to have no CD issued, this may have caused the single not charting in the UK Top 100.

"Alive" got good reviews from several music critics. Robert Copsey said, "Beginning with a piano riff reminiscent of vintage Elton, 'Alive' built towards a fantastic arms in the air chorus on which Goldfrapp proclaims 'I'm feeling alive again' over gorgeously warm 80s-style synths." Heather Phares said in her writings that, "channels ABBA with percolating guitars, warm keyboards and synths that sparkle like falling stars or a shower of glitter." Pete Paphides correlates "Alive" as one Billy Joel's top hits in the 1980's  "It's Still Rock and Roll to Me" "mixed in amyl nitrate and recast to lyrics that sound like an excellent lost Brutus jeans jingle." BBC Music reviewer Ian Wade decided that "while Alive initially echoes The Feeling, it soon expands into a broader wonder evocative of ELO's most-imperial phase." Barry Nicolson noted that "Alive" "treads along on an infuriatingly familiar-sounding piano hook modernised by Gregory's whip-smart production." Andy Gill commented, "the Elton-esque piano chords of 'Alive' recall the indulgent, bogus innocence of 1970s AOR pop excess with Spandex-tight accuracy." Spin magazine's Lindsey Thomas commented that "'Alive,' in particular, wears its influences proudly, showing off the shimmery squiggles that denoted muse-y magic in Xanadu.
