Dust shroud fits multiple angle grinders with color-coded inserts

Aug. 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Made from heat resistant material, these inserts fit snugly into the Situp Products' dust shroud mounting collar and are precision molded to fit exactly over the bearing housing of the major brands of angle grinders. The three screws in the steel mounting collar clamp the dust shroud strongly to the angle grinder to prevent it from coming loose.

Color coding makes it easy to know which insert fits onto which grinder - Green for Hitachi, Black for Metabo, Yellow for DeWalt, Blue for Makita and Red for Milwaukee. Bosch grinders fit exactly without using an insert.

All inserts are supplied with each dust shroud to enable the operator to swap to another grinder if necessary should the first grinder be unsuitable or if it needs to be serviced. This is also important for retailers who do not want to be restricted to providing only one type of angle grinder to the customer, or who do not wish to stock several different types of mounting collars.

The combination of the precision molded inserts and the strong, welded steel collar make this setup the most stable mounting system and the use of tough, heat resistant materials for the inserts prevents corrosion locking of the mounting collar to the grinder as happens with aluminium collars.

Another feature of the inserts is their ability to prevent excess airflow from entering around the mounting system which would normally require a larger vacuum dust collection system to compensate for the extra airflow.
