Diamond grinder for concrete floors

Aug. 5, 2010 - PRLog -- The diamond grinding wheel is enclosed in a dust shroud to prevent dust escaping into the air and it is driven by an angle grinder motor that rotates the wheel at 6,000 rpm to rapidly abrade the concrete surface.

To enable the diamonds to be attached to the wheel they are formed with special metals in  segments which are welded onto the metal grinding wheel. The diamonds and the metals are mixed in dry form and then heated in molds inside a furnace to melt the metal around the diamonds which prevents them from being pulled out of the segments while they are grinding away the concrete.

This diamond grinder uses a Situp Products' dust shroud to contain the dust and remove it via the exhaust port which is connected to a vacuum dust collector. It has an adjustable seal for various diamond segment heights, an edging feature for grinding along walls and air entry under the seal to free the dust around the diamonds and to keep them cool.

The nine inch angle grinder spins the diamond grinding wheel at high speed and it has very strong torque to deliver its power even under heavy load. The faster the diamonds are moved over the concrete surface the more concrete they will remove which makes this combination diamond grinder very effective.
