The new apparel features 2 material innovations- coldblack® and Cotton-Lyc.
By: Epix Gear The featured product will be the new Airflow + line with coldblack® technology. Coldblack® reduces fatigue and improves athletic performance by reflecting 80% of heat rays, even when applied to dark fabrics which normally absorb heat. It also offers a minimum UPF 30+ protection against harmful ultraviolet rays. What is more, coldblack® treatment is bluesign® compliant, therefore containing no components or processes hazardous to people or the environment. The coldblack® treatment will not wash out in regular household laundry or in prolonged use, and the lycra with coldblack® is chlorine-resistant. Coldblack® treatment also extends the life of the lycra by around 20%. Epix will be one of the first companies on the market to offer triathlon apparel with coldblack® technology. Epix will also feature another material innovation for 2011: Cotton-Lyc. This material provides the softness and comfort of cotton, combined with the stretch-ability and moisture-control properties of lycra. This means that, like cotton, the fabric is exceptionally soft and non-abrasive, but unlike cotton, does not retain moisture and dries just as quickly as normal lycra fabric. These unique properties make it an excellent fabric for triathlon. In addition, Cotton-Lyc is chlorine-resistant. Epix has also made numerous improvements to their 2010 Airflow product line, and visitors to Interbike Las Vegas can experience all of their new products at the Epix booth # 427.
