WHAT:   Fathers As First Teachers on the First Day of School Labor Day Rally & Picnic

WHEN:   Monday, September 6, 2010
      Rally Starts @ Westminster Presbyterian 10 a.m.
      Picnic & Outdoor Activities Starts Lake Meade Park 12 Noon

WHY:      To increase father involvement in the educational process to help reduce school dropout rates.

AUDIENCES:   Fathers, mothers, youth, educators, mentors, churches, community organizations, businesses, political leaders, counselors, juvenile justice officials, and municipalities.

TOPICS:   Father Absence vs. Involvement, School Dropout Prevention, Academic Success Strategies, Childhood Obesity, Youth Advocacy, Young Males & Criminality, Employment Opportunities for Dads

HIGHLIGHTS: Free school supplies given away, free food, free literacy resources, free parenting education resources, games, bounce machine, mini golf course, gymnastics performance show, contests, prizes, races and musical entertainment.

NEEDS:   Fathers, Families, Schools & Government Involvement, Back to School Supplies, Business Sponsorships and food donations.
