Aug. 27, 2010 - PRLog -- Take a fascinating look at the ancient Viking Age, its lore and culture, in the first book of the new Viking Blood series. It is inspired by the author’s sailing trips to England, Scotland, and Ireland, as well as her local community, where there are still remains from that long ago era, when Nordic fighting men dominated sea and land.

The Assault takes place when the first Christian monks came north and influenced Norse culture. Complemented by beautiful and dramatic illustrations in Viking Blood 1: The Assault, a young Viking named Hauge forms a friendship with a Christian monk, Hannibal, after Hauge’s father is killed in a bloody attack. When his father will be laid to rest, a slave girl is to go with her master to his grave, as is Norse custom. Hauge tries to prevent her death, as he begins to see her as a human being.

The dramatic adventures and lifelong friendship between these two young men from such contrasting cultures is explored in future books of this compelling series.
