Follow on Google News | ![]() 5,280th Local School Aged Child To Cross The Marathon Distance Finsh LineHelp get a Colorado child started on a lifelong love of running this fall. Kids Running America (KRA) offers a fun and exciting incremental marathon program that gives school aged kids a goal to focus on while they log running miles.
Since 2007, Kids Running America has shown over 4,500 kids that eating right and running is a great way to live. “KRA is an opportunity for young people to build self-esteem, improve their health and experience their own personal power” says Kerry Vargo, Kids Running America’s Executive Director and Founder. While running, either individually or on a team through a school or organization, the kids complete 25.2 miles incrementally over a given time period. Then they run the final mile, of the marathon distance, together with all of the other children in the program at a Final Mile Event. KRA wants to encourage all school aged children to get and stay fit, so in that spirit, KRA is giving the Colorado school with the most runners $500 towards their P.E. department. Registration is open now at http:// www.kidsrunningamerica.org By bringing Kids Running America to your school and starting a running club you can help make a healthy lifestyle change for a Colorado school age kid. Kids Running America's vision is to impact 15,000 Colorado kids by 2013.
