Solitary shots as well as shots with more than one child will be accepted. Submissions from professional photographers and photography enthusiasts are both up for consideration. The company is very interested in receiving submissions from photos taken around the globe. For participants whose photos are chosen, the company is offering compensation in the way of free books, cash prizes and gift certificates. Please see submission site for further details. The submission site link is http://rainbow.multiculturalkids.com . Photographers may submit up to (10) images per month. The deadline for submissions is December 31, 2010 (subject to extension if necessary). “Publishing this type of book has been our dream since starting our company in 2006,” said Suzee Ramirez, co-owner of Multicultural Kids. Multicultural Kids is a dynamic and highly visible online retailer of world culture and character building educational products. They serve teachers, day care providers, and parents across the country and around the world. Multicultural Kids, Inc. is owned and operated by sisters Lynne Raspet and Suzee Ramirez; the company was inspired by their passion for other cultures and their family whose ancestry includes German, Scottish, Irish, Mexican, Filipino, Portuguese (Azores), Swedish, Slovenian, and Native American roots. The owners decided to further their mission by publishing a book that both reflects and celebrates the changing face of all the world’s children. The book was dreamed up out of the beauty they saw not only in their own culturally mixed children, but children of all colors. Multicultural Kids has also received permission to feature a popular children’s song called “Beautiful Rainbow World” by an award-winning folksinger, Daria. Her own mixed heritage and work with children around the world persuaded her to become part of this emerging and exciting project that celebrates the identities of kids worldwide.
