Rikai Browser update makes reading Japanese websites on the iPad even easier

TOKYO – September 9, 2010 – Reading Japanese on the iPad gets even better this week. Rikai Browser for iPad, the web browser with a built in Japanese to English dictionary, updates with a new feature called AutoRikai. The new feature allows you to slide your finger along a sentence with each word being looked up automatically along the way.

“We made Rikai Browser originally for those who needed occasional help with a kanji. Our customers told us they wanted to look up a lot of words so we made that easier. Now you can simply slide your finger along and the reading and meaning of each word will pop up as you go,” said Ross Sharrott, a Director at Long .

The new version is now ad free, and will sell for $3.99 in the US store and ¥450 in the Japan App Store. “We wanted to do something to say ‘Thank You’ to our early downloaders, so we’ve made the update free for them,” commented Paul Chapman, also a Director at Long Weekend, “but we also wanted to keep a free option available, so we also released Rikai Browser Free which will continue to be ad supported.”
