District 35 Knights of Columbus In Tampa Hosting Charity Golf Tournament

Sept. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- The Kights of Columbus is hosting a Charity Golf Event at Summerfield Crossings Golf Club in Riverview, Florida on Saturday October 9th.  In behalf of this year’s beneficiary, Tim Manning, I extend a heartfelt “Thank You” for considering our event.  Please read on to learn a little about Tim, and the event.

Mr. Manning is a single widowed father of three.  Due to the relocation of the Smithfield Foods Inc., Tim is both unemployed and without health insurance.  Earlier this year, Tim developed a serious foot infection, further complicated by diabetics and kidney failure.  He has endured several surgeries, lost part of his right foot, and has dialysis every other day.  

Our goal is to pay a good portion of his $250,000 medicals bills with proceeds from this tournament.

Tim Manning joined the Knights of Columbus nearly thirty years ago.  Over the years, he has taken leading roles in his Council as well as the District level, and has chaired a number of worthy local events and fundraisers.  He was elected to many Council offices before becoming Grand Knight.  Under Tim’s leadership, his Council achieved the Star Council Award. As District Deputy, he achieved a Star District Award and first place in the state for the highest membership recruitment. Currently, Tim is a Regional State Public Relations Coordinator.

You can help Tim by 1) donating a tournament prize, 2) playing in the charity golf event, or 3) sending a donation.

The Tournament Entry Fee is $75.00 per person, or $280.00 per foursome.  The entry fee includes range balls, golf cart, greens fees, lunch and prizes.
