Mud and slurries containing hard solids not larger than 3 mm (1/8”) are frequently pumped by a slurry pump. The slurry pump divided into horizontal and vertical type.

Submersible slurry pump models

Commonly, there will be 50YZ50-20, 80YZ40-10, 80YZ50-10, 80YZ50-20. 80YZ50-20B, 100YZ100-30, 100YZ160-38B, 150YZ250-40B, 150YZ250-40A. The different models indicate different treating capacity and discharges.

The treating capacity from 40m³/h to 270 m³/h. The under water length if no special requirements it will be 1.3~1.5m. According to pumped medium and the mud resource there will be various lift, efficiency, speed, motor power, etc. issues on certain submersible slurry pump.

GN has designed many drilling mud system. In Horizontal Directional Drilling mud system, we always provided complete proposal with submersible slurry pump.

Just few days ago, we configured one 400GPM HDD mud system for Australian HDD contractor. This mud system is with 100YZ100-30 slurry pump holds 22kw motor.

Moreover, there is also 2 HDD mud systems for Korean. This client also needs the submersible slurry pump. Since its treating capacity is 200GPM, the slurry pump is changed to be Vertical centrifugal pump SB4x3-12.

It holds treating capacity as 60 m³/h. Same with 80YZ50-10 submersible slurry pump. Choose vertical centrifugal pump because of easy transportation and more convenience.
