Parents and Infants Learn Together

Sept. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Expectant parents dream of cuddling, feeding and nurturing their baby before she is born.  As this dream becomes a reality the days and nights seem to blend.  Sleep is disrupted and parents find there is little time for meals, exercise or reflection or themselves. Although envisioning a desirable future is important, enjoying and appreciating the present moments of the journey is equally important.  Parenting is hard work. Hard work is best accomplished by teamwork, mutual support, and working toward well-understood common goals.

This is just what the new Infant and Parent class offered at the Princeton Montessori School led by Maria Johnson, a Parent Infant Specialist will provide to parents, grandparents and nannies this fall. Ms. Johnson brings her many years of experience, observations and research to help new parents deal with the challenges of parenting, identifying the developmental markers in infant children and aid parents in the use of direct and indirect skills that affect the beginning responses and connections with the world.
