UL Class-350 2-Hour Fire Rating: Safes are tested for 2 hours and heated in a furnace under temperatures to 1850°F.  To qualify for the rating, the internal temperature of the safe must stay below 350°F for the entire test period.

UL Impact Rating: Safes are heated to 1638°F for 45 minutes, and then are dropped from 30 feet onto concrete rubble. The safe is then inverted and heated again for 45 minutes.
In order to pass the test, the safe must protect its contents and remain intact for the entire test period.

UL RSC Burglary Rating: This test is for resistance physical attack using certain common burglary tools.  The safe must resist attack for at least 5 minutes.

UL TL (Tool Attack) Rating: Certain construction requirements must be met for a safe to qualify for this rating.  In addition to being rated for UL RSC Burglary, these safes must also be resistant to additional attacks by grinders, pick-axes, sledge hammers, drills and saws for specific durations.   They are tested for resistance against these tools for 15 or 30 minutes.
