Samantha Cotterill is an artist who discovered the benefits and joys of making her own handcrafted items when she became a stay-at-home mom in need of a creative outlet. Her whimsical characters, with names like Mr. Bunny and Ms. Fox, and adorable town scenes with double-decker buses quickly grew into a successful business. She operates her own online shop www.mummysam.com, showcasing her hand-sewn creations, fabric line and blog. She has been featured on almost a dozen online, sewing related media outlets including the eco-conscious design site for children www.inhabitots.com and Small Magazine. Besides designing decorative and delightful objects to ignite the imagination, she also has the satisfaction of choosing 100% wool for her creations. “It’s a natural fiber, it’s pure, free of chemicals and amazing to work with,” says Cotterill.
