By: Edmund Benson The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Federal employees can now choose to support ARISE Foundation through the CFC. ARISE is a nonprofit organization providing life skills and staff training to the toughest and hard to reach youth. ARISE curricula and staff training enables instructors and youth to accomplish meaningful tasks and communicate comfortably with each other. Lessons are streamlined so that barriers are removed, while adding thoughtful, innovative elements that draw both youth and instructors into the subject matter. Traumatized teens locked behind bars are abandoned, abused, mistreated and need help. They require social skills usually learned from families. We give them a future. ARISE is most successful when the youth we work with stay out of the juvenile justice system. The support of active, concerned citizens like you helps us achieve that success Since ARISE was established almost three decades ago, they have trained and certified over 5,000 instructors who have taught in excess of 4,000,000 documented hours of ARISE life skills lessons in Florida alone. ARISE is also being used in Canada, Jamaica, England, Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, New Zealand, Mexico, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Bosnia, Kazakhstan, Kingdom of Bahrain, South Africa, and Vietnam. The ARISE curricula is presently being translated into Kazakh and Russian for use with orphans.
