Sept. 24, 2010 - PRLog -- Seattle, WA -- Seeking a third season for the cancelled Legend of the Seeker, fans are calling for votes to support a "Favorite TV Fantasy Hero" category for the upcoming People's Choice Awards.  Word has gone out across the Web for fans of the show to rally around its 2nd season DvD/Blu-Ray release and to help create a suitable category for the show in the next PCA.

Legend of the Seeker fan site SaveOurSeeker.com has proposed a new category -- "Favorite TV Fantasy Hero" -- be nominated for the next People's Choice Awards.  The People's Choice Awards have opened up category nominations to the public (http://www.peopleschoice.com/pca/categories/vote.jsp) and Legend of the Seeker fans are using the "Others" field to recommend "Favorite TV Fantasy Hero".

But as the 2nd season DvD/Blu-Ray sets are coming to market, fans of the show are also hoping to introduce a new, wider audience to the show.  Fan groups are sharing plans for viewing parties where new audiences can be introduced to the show and encouraged to buy the DvD/Blu-Ray sets online from their favorite retailers.  Legend of the Seeker fan groups have also been appearing at science fiction conventions, distributing posters, iTunes episodes, and flyers.

Legend of the Seeker was produced by Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert's Pacific Renaissance Pictures.  Filmed entirely in New Zealand, the show mirrors the main story arc of Terry Goodkind's 11 Sword of Truth novels.  Goodkind plans to publish at least 3 more books in the series.

Legend of the Seeker fans still regularly discuss the show on blogs, forums, and Twitter.  Operation LOTS More is helping to publicize the fan campaigns to revive the show across the World Wide Web.

Save Our Seeker and Save The Seeker are fan-created campaign slogans.  The Save Our Seeker and Save The Seeker fan initiatives and do not represent Pacific Renaissance Pictures, ABC Studios, or Terry Goodkind.  Legend of the Seeker and Sword of Truth are protected trademarks.
