Netanyahu dictates foreign policy to Obama. State Department spokesman deployed to scold the child. This is the road to peace?

Sept. 28, 2010 - PRLog -- WASHINGTON, D.C. (MWA-Net) – As agencies reported news of Israeli settlers cheering Sunday's expiration of a moratorium on building new settlements in the West Bank, and Israeli soldiers clashed with Palestinian demonstrators, it appears ironic that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had the audacity to urge Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to "continue on the road towards peace."

Although Abbas is reported to have announced that he would not abandon peace negotiations before consulting with senior Arab officials in Cairo next week, it is nothing short of incredulous to learn that the very next day, a 'fired up' President Obama was heard declaring from the East Room of the White House, that it would be 'inexcusable' and 'irresponsible' for apathetic Democratic voters to sit out the midterm elections.

"Don't you suppose the Palestinians might feel a little 'fired up' as well Mr. President, and consider it equally as inexcusable that Israel has 'told' the U.S. that it would not extend the deadline of last November's settlement moratorium, and that a State Department spokesman was tasked with 'chiding' Israel for resisting international pressure to halt settlement construction?" Muslimah Writers Alliance Director, Aishah Schwartz, asked.

In a letter published Monday at Congress.org, Schwartz further suggested  a recall of the Nobel Peace Prize, declared as a 'call to action' by the President when he received the award on December 10, 2009 in Orslow, Norway.

Re: Failure to Secure Continuation of Moratorium on Israeli Settlements in West Bank

Dear President Obama,

I seem to recall hearing that you were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize...so are we really expected to believe you were completely incapable of having any influence whatsoever in procuring a continuation of the moratorium on settlement construction by Israeli's in the West Bank?

Oops...too late.

When the Fed-X guy arrives at the Oval Office for a pick-up, be sure to have that Peace Prize ready for shipping.

We, the people standing in solidarity with Palestine want it back!

Sincerely,

Aishah Schwartz
