Follow on Google News | Congressional candidate Shelley Madore responds to Bachmann Clark debate announcementMinnesota Second District Congressional candidate Shelley Madore responded today to news agency reports that Tarryl Clark and Michele Bachmann have agreed to three public debates prior to Election Day.
"I'm impressed by the commitment of both of these candidates to express their views to the voters. It is my hope that John Kline will likewise embrace the process and engage our voters in the Second Congressional District. In this economy, many employees are facing a performance review and their positions are under intense scrutiny; no one is above a performance review." When Madore learned that John Kline had refused an invitation from the League of Women Voters and 5 Eyewitness News to debate her on October 2, she held a press conference and delivered a formal letter to his Burnsville office, inviting him to choose any date, time and place for a debate, between October 1 and October 19. Kline's campaign responded that a 25-minute segment on Minnesota Public Radio, already scheduled for Oct. 26, would be sufficient. "My invitation to debate still stands," said Madore.
