New Geometry Video Series

Oct. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- To the ancient Greeks, geometry literally meant “Earth measurement,” and in the spirit of geometry as a global discipline, the Geometry Applications series travels the world in search of how geometry affects our lives. Although the core of geometry involves abstract ideas, the applications of geometry are quite tangible. This series introduces students to different cultures, different periods of history, and investigates architectural and cultural landmarks to explore key concepts in geometry.

This series is ideal for use in a high school geometry class to supplement the core content. However, this series can also be used in a middle school setting or an informal geometry class. Middle school teachers will find ample opportunities for cross-curricular connections.
This series also utilizes current technology to develop the geometric concepts. The Texas Instruments™ TI-Nspire graphing calculator is used throughout to expand on core ideas or explore new concepts. All keystrokes are clearly shown in the video, as well as in the accompanying teacher’s guides.
